Position Summary
Simpson is seeking compassionate and dependable Care Associates to join our Weekend Staffing Program supporting our Personal Care and Memory Care communities. This unique full-time opportunity is designed to provide consistent, high-quality care to our residents while offering a structured weekend-focused schedule.
Care Associates play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Weekend Program Schedule and Benefits
- Work four (4) 8-hour shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Program runs Friday through Monday; some schedules may include overnight shifts beginning Thursday at 11:00pm.
- Earn a 5th “Bonus Day” of pay for working all scheduled shifts (equivalent to 40 hours pay for 32 hours worked)
- Eligible for full-time benefits
- Opportunity to pick up additional hours, based on staffing needs
Essential Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support resident mobility and transfers using assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration in accordance with training and policy
- Assist with meal preparation, setup, and feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including bed-making, laundry, room tidiness, and minor/emergent cleaning
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
- Monitor residents’ health and report changes or concerns to appropriate staff
- Assist with recreational activities and resident engagement
- Accurately document care provided and observations in resident records
- Follow all facility policies and procedures to ensure resident safety and well-being
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Must work all scheduled weekend shifts to maintain program eligibility and receive bonus pay
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Must complete Medication Administration Certification within the first 4 weeks of employment
- Complete required annual training in accordance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
Education or Degree Required:
- HS Diploma or equivalent (ie: GED) – If applicant attended secondary school outside the US, Diploma must be translated to English language if printed in native language.
- Complete Direct Care Worker Training from Temple University Online before orientation Direct Care Staff Training and Competency Test | (temple.edu)
- Complete Dementia Care Training – completed with in 30 days of hire
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
- CPR Certified
- First Aid Certified
- AED Certified (Preferred)
- Medication Administration Certified (Preferred)
Related Skills and Experience:
- 1 year experience providing direct care to seniors or disabled people.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to communicate with other healthcare providers when necessary.
