Brief Description
Simpson University is currently seeking an Administrative Support Specialist for two programs within the Academic Affairs Department: The Degree Completion Program and the MACP (Master’s in Counseling Psychology) Program.
The Administrative Support Specialist spearheads new initiatives to support non-traditional undergraduate students and graduate student success through managing academic program activities. This position works closely to support the Dean of Adult Studies and MACP Director to carry out initiatives.
This is a temporary full time (40 hours/week) position expected to last from approximately June 1st through October 31st, 2025.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-year administrative experience required; educational environment preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
- Experience with institutional integrated database applications is desirable
- An understanding of non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students
- Able to multi-task, collaborate, prioritize, and work effectively with multiple stakeholders to accomplish program and departmental goals
- Personal relationship with Jesus, a vibrant Christian faith, and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ.

- Supervises employees in accordance with Simpson University policies and procedures (for supervisory positions)
- Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area
- Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor
- Welcome and assist students, faculty, and staff that visit the department
- Develop and update digital resources, social media and website content for Degree Completion
- Champion course registration process for current and incoming students
- Manage services to program faculty and students, including textbook acquisition, production of syllabi, course evaluations, faculty meetings, and room scheduling
- Collaborate with the CELT Director for effective operation of Canvas system for faculty, students, and staff
- Create and verify program schedules, teaching appointments and due dates
- Create and disseminate publications (e.g. handbooks, manuals, rubrics, evaluation instruments, etc.)
- Establish and implement procedures for disseminating, collecting, and archiving required documents and paperwork for Degree Completion and MACP
- Ensure each class and faculty member has appropriate materials for each class
- Manage the budgets, monitoring needs and assisting with budget development
- Maintain effective communication with all departments related to effective coordination of operations for Degree Completion and MACP
- Maintain calendar for the office of Degree Completion and MACP
- Other duties as assigned
