Finance Analyst

FINANCE ANALYST

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team at Simply Good Foods. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our supply chain, supporting partners in Co-manufacturing, R&D, Procurement and Logistics. Your expertise will directly contribute to our company's profitability and ensure efficient financial management across the entire supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Reporting:

• Support Month Close activity (i.e., prepare journal entries, explain P&L impacts, etc.)
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and financial modeling, as needed
• Identify and initiate process improvements with data management, forecasting, and reporting
• Participate in special projects and assignments, as required
• Participate in all other miscellaneous SMPL and departmental tasks, as required
• Attend departmental/cross-functional meetings

Cost Of Goods:

• Evaluate cost cards, raw materials, and RFP analyses against current / future formulas and manufacturers
• Maintain detailed information and data on product costing / purchase price variance (PPV)
• Model impacts of procurement inflation on forecast
• Support the consolidation of product cost changes driven by procurement, co-manufacturing, logistics and marketing
• Evaluate impacts of savings initiatives identified across the partner teams

Logistics:

• Analyze freight costs and incremental impacts to budget; understand implications of changes to future assumptions (i.e., delivered vs pickup freight, DC network configuration, etc.)
• Partner with Logistics teams to explain variances to budget

KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
• General knowledge of Cost Accounting
• Advanced knowledge of Power BI, a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage monthly cadence and multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree, required
• Minimum 2-4 years’ professional experience in Finance and/or Accounting
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls within Ops or Supply Chain, preferred
• 2 years’ in a cross-functional Finance capacity partnering with internal teams (i.e. Accounting, Business Partners, etc.); CPG experience, preferred

** Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment and may be stressful at times. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and fax machine and scanner.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The health, satisfaction and well-being of our employees are important to us and an integral part of our organization’s goals. In this spirit, we are excited to share the available compensation for this role, which includes a base salary range and an annual short-term incentive.

We provide the base salary range, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (https://www.thesimplygoodfoodscompany.com/careers).Additionally, this position is eligible for a 5% annual short-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.

HQ (Office-Based):

CO salary range is: $70,000 - $85,000
