Job Title: Digital Signage Technician (Freelance/Part-Time)
Location: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston, Texas
About Us: Our Client is a leading Aviation IT Design/Consulting, Systems Integration, and Project Management firm. We specialize in delivering high-quality technology solutions in complex environments like airports and transportation hubs. We are currently motivated and IT-savvy individuals who are also open to hands-on construction work for part-time, freelance project-based roles at the IAH Airport.
Position Summary: We have an immediate opportunity for Digital Signage Technicians to assist with ongoing technology and construction projects at BHM Airport. This is a freelance, part-time role ideal for someone with a blend of IT knowledge and construction readiness.
This position requires availability for 3rd shift work (6PM to 2AM) as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support IT and construction supervisors in executing project tasks.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot digital signage systems (LCD Displays, Flight Info Displays, Digital Ads, etc.).
- Follow IT security best practices on job sites.
- Use and maintain hand tools and equipment; ensure proper cleanup of work areas.
- Assist in configuring and supporting network components and smart devices (tablets, laptops, etc.).
- Interpret basic IT and construction plans.
- Learn and support systems including wireless access points, audio/video hardware, and control wiring.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of IT/network architecture and standards.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic math.
- Ability to troubleshoot common IT/networking issues.
- Comfortable with tools, ladders (up to 30ft), and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Physically fit with a professional, clean appearance.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Must own steel toe boots, cell phone, and laptop with Windows OS.
- Valid driver's license.
- Able to pass a criminal background check and 10-panel drug screening.
- Available for 3rd shift assignments when needed.
- Must be self-motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
Preferred (but not required):
- IT and/or construction certifications.
- Previous military experience.
- Experience on active construction sites and understanding of job site safety (PPE: vest, hard hat, etc.).
- Open to candidates without a college diploma.
