Summary
This role will be responsible for the strategy, planning, execution and governance of AgriBusiness data, reporting, and analytics work. They will work with the Simplot Technology and Data Science Organization (T&DS) to synchronize efforts across this area of accountability in service of that strategy. They will serve as business contact and conduit, defining, connecting and organizing business unit analytics users and needs with Global Simplot functions aligned to data, reporting, and analytics activities. This role will be responsible planning, organizing, and governing work in this complex space, bringing structure and predictability to the advancement of reporting and analytics capabilities in the business unit.
Effective performers will have three well-developed skills sets:
Reporting and analytics strategy definition, alignment, and ongoing maintenance
Lead or participate in cross functional teams in the execution of critical initiatives
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) or equivalent (not essential but strongly encouraged)

- Well-versed in translating complex business requirements into effective data models and complementary solutions, fluent in industry trends and practices including relevant uses of AI tools
- Expert in organizing and leading in distributed teams without formal reporting relationships, including the capacity to translate between business and technical teams across a variety of experience levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics Platform to assist distributed business teams in data validation and PowerBI report development, deliver a handful of point solutions and to experiment with future state analytic possibilities
Reporting and analytics strategy definition, alignment, and ongoing maintenance
- Evaluate critical factors for reporting, data, and analytics work including current systems/behaviors, projects in flight, desired business capabilities, and overall JRS technology plan
- Define and socialize policies that respond to those critical factors
- Sequence high leverage project work in accordance with critical factors and policy
- Study external environment and new opportunities in our industries
- Evaluate existing processes and teams accountable for data governance at Simplot, ensure the business unit is appropriately participating and leveraging those teams, recommend adjustments as needed
- Continuously drive simplification of business unit data, reporting, and analytics landscape
- Establish ongoing cadence with owners, users, and creators of data to develop and execute data, reporting, and analytics strategy
- For areas deemed business critical, establish new advanced capabilities that can be rapidly adopted and sustained by business users
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions
Lead or participate in cross functional teams in the execution of critical initiatives
- Drive business engagement to complement technology teams
- Proactively identify and resolve program level decisions
