What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Simplex Inc?
Description
This position is responsible for the inspection, testing, and verification of equipment and processes throughout our production floor. Rapid development of familiarity with Simplex product line is expected. Utilization of hand tools and test equipment will be required to perform work. This position requires knowledge of equipment manufacturer’s specifications and communication with the engineering department of problems relating to maintenance or operation of equipment. There is a high degree of pressure to meet deadlines with this position being a pre-test verification point in our production process. There is the need for the ability to communicate effectively with other departments as necessary.
· Examining, testing, and repair of wiring, mechanical load, and
equipment
· Root Cause/Corrective Action investigation and implementation
· Creation of work instructions, procedures, and forms as needed
· Accurate and timely completion of inspection and inspection
paperwork
· Assist in the Calibration program compliance as needed
· Assist in ISO 9001 compliance and audits as needed
· Assist in the training of employees as needed
· Ability to follow all safety guidelines at all times
Requirements
· Ability to distinguish between different wire colors including blue,
green, red and black
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
· Moderate computer skills including familiarity with MS Word,
Outlook, Excel and Access (SharePoint is a plus)
· Problem solving skills and ability to work effectively under deadlines
· Familiarity with Root Cause/Corrective Action principles
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 and its requirements
· Understanding and familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines
including: LOTO, Hazardous Communication, PPE, etc.
· Ability to operate various shop tools (including power and manually
operated)
