What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finish Carpenter position at Simplex Homes?
We are looking for an experienced finish carpenter to join our manufacturing team. We are located in Scranton, PA and build residential and commercial buildings. As a finish carpenter, the ideal individual will install interior doors and trim, assemble and install, kitchen and bath cabinets, dap and putty finish work, fabricate and install countertops in kitchens and baths. Build stairs and railings and other finish carpentry tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and follow prints and work orders
- Ability to measure, cut and install casing and baseboard trims
- Ability to install doors in pre-made openings
- Ability to install window jambs and sills
- Ability to install cabinets, countertops and finish trims per work order as required
- Attention to detail is a must
- Ability to install solid wood and/or ventilated closet shelving
- Ability to install crown and chair mouldings
- Must be able to follow direction and work safely using proper PPE and using trim tools in a safe manner
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read work order and prints
- Ability to read tape measure
- Self -motivated
- Strong verbal skills
