Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Payments to lead the payments function at Simplenght, a fast-growing enterprise technology business. This role will be responsible for overseeing payment processing, alignment with fraud prevention & compliance departments, and optimizing transaction experiences for buyers and sellers. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payments infrastructure, fintech solutions, and regulatory requirements to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Payments Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and execute a comprehensive payments strategy that enhances user experience and maximizes conversion rates.
- Optimize payment processing workflows to ensure seamless, secure, and cost-effective transactions.
- Identify and implement new payment methods to support global expansion and customer preferences.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with payment regulations, including PCI-DSS, PSD2, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
- Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies to minimize chargebacks and unauthorized transactions.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay ahead of industry regulations and security best practices.
Partnerships & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with payment service providers, acquiring banks, and financial partners.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to optimize costs and service levels.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party fintech solutions to enhance payment capabilities.
Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyze payment metrics, transaction trends, and fraud patterns to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on key KPIs, including authorization rates, payment success rates, and chargeback ratios.
- Leverage data insights to optimize checkout flows and reduce friction in the payment process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, engineering, finance, and customer support, fraud & compliance teams to enhance payment functionalities.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging payment technologies, regulatory changes, and market trends.
- Advocate for customer needs by ensuring payment processes align with marketplace dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7 years of experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce, with a leadership role in managing payments operations.
- Strong understanding of payment processing, fraud prevention, risk management, and compliance.
- Experience working with global payment providers, acquiring banks, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in payments analytics, with the ability to use data to drive strategic decisions.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
