SimpleHire is hiring a Construction Project Manager to lead fiber optic construction projects in and around Duluth, MN. This is a full-time, direct-hire role for someone who can own a project from planning through closeout — schedules, budgets, crews, subcontractors, permits, and client relationships.
No degree required. What matters is 3 years of hands-on experience managing fiber, telecom, or utility construction projects, and the ability to run a job site with authority.
Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000–$115,000/year, based on experience

What You'll Do
- Plan, schedule, and manage fiber construction projects from kickoff through completion
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and control scope
- Coordinate and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and equipment/material logistics
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, utility partners, and permitting agencies
- Track project milestones and production against schedule
- Ensure work meets safety standards, permitting requirements, and utility specifications
- Resolve field issues and scheduling conflicts in real time
- Report project status, risks, and financials to leadership
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience managing fiber, telecom, or utility construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and crew management
- Familiarity with permitting, utility locates, and right-of-way processes
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multiple crews simultaneously
- Strong communication skills — this role interfaces directly with clients and utility partners
- Open to travel
- Valid driver's license
- No degree required

- PMP or construction management certification
- Prior experience specifically in fiber/broadband construction
