Data Center Technician

This is a full-time, stable position with steady hours and a team that shows up and gets the job done. You'll be on the floor, in the field, and in the thick of it every single day. No cubicles. No sitting around. Just real work, real equipment, and real results. This job is not for everyone — and that's the point.

This position is ON SITE in Algona, IA. You must be able to commute daily to this location.

What You'll Be Doing

Keeping Things Running

• Track and close out work tickets so problems get fixed fast — downtime costs money and we take that seriously.
• Decide which machines need attention first and stay on top of them throughout your shift.
• Keep records accurate in Foreman and other systems we use.

Hands-On Repairs & Maintenance

• Perform regular maintenance and basic repairs on mining machines.
• Run diagnostics to figure out what's wrong and fix it — fast.
• Read miner logs and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Replace filters, handle overheating problems, and make sure everything stays running the way it should.

Network & Tech Support

• Use tools like Foreman and BTC Tools to monitor machines and catch issues before they become big problems.
• Track down and fix network connection problems.
• Set up static IPs and get new miners online.

Site & Team Support

• Help set up new miners and pods from start to finish.
• Keep the site clean, organized, and locked down at the end of every shift.
• Help train teammates and share what you know.
• Jump in wherever you're needed — we're a team here.

What We're Looking For

No college degree needed. Here's what actually matters:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 years of hands-on experience in a technical or similar role
• Basic understanding of networks and IP addresses
• Able to learn new software and stay on top of accurate data entry
• Self-motivated, dependable, and not afraid to get your hands dirty

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with crypto mining hardware (ASICs) or similar equipment
• Familiarity with Foreman or BTC Tools
• Experience setting up or troubleshooting networks

Location Requirement (Non-Negotiable)
This role is based in Algona, IA.
You must:

• Live within commuting distance
• Be able to travel to the site daily
• Attend an in-person interview

We are not considering relocation or out-of-state candidates at this time.

• Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. on occasion (with or without reasonable accommodation)

• Rain, heat, cold, wind — you're outside in all of it, year-round
• Loud environments (we provide ear protection — you'll need it)
• Flexible availability may be required, including evenings and weekends [confirm if applicable]

What We Provide

We take care of our people. All required safety gear is provided at no cost, including safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, face shields (at hydro sites), fall protection harnesses, and specialized gloves for electrical or chemical work.

What You'll Need to Bring on Day 1:

• Steel-toed boots — required from day one, no exceptions
• Work jeans — durable, full-length pants built for physical work
• Weather gear — coat, gloves, and layers for cold-weather outdoor work
• Prescription safety lenses — if you wear prescription glasses, you cover the lenses; we provide the approved frames or shields
