What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Specialist / Helpdesk Support & Projects - Hybrid - MSP Exp. REQ position at Simple IT Care?
- You MUST live within about 30 minutes drive to Baltimore Metro area (Some onsite is required from time to time)
- US Citizenship mandatory due to client requirements
- You *MUST* have recent Work Experience of a minimum 3-5 years, with a "Managed Service Provider" - MSP - That supports Small Business clients.
- Onsite at Clients about 10-30% -AND- Work from Home (WFH) 70-90%
- Salary negotiable depending on experience
Responsibilities include Supporting all areas of Small Business IT
*** This is a LEVEL 2/3 Senior Support Position that involves Tier 1, 2, & some T3 Helpdesk and on-site support.
Most Clients are: Medical, Legal, Accounting, Non Profit, Financial, Gov. Contractors, Engineering, Education & more
** REQUIRED - STRONG Social skills to build rapport with small business owners & users
** Required Server, workstation, applications, printer, etc & Cloud troubleshooting skills
** Required Experience with Office 365 Management, SharePoint Drives, OneDrive
** Required Experience managing common software & solutions for small business IT needs
** Required Experience with Tier 1, 2 and some Tier 3 IT support issues
** PREFERRED Server PROJECT experience - Migration Experience - Physical/Virtual/Cloud Systems - or strong background/experience with ability to learn and move into project type work.
Experience with any of the following is a PLUS:
>> Connectwise Manage PSA Ticketing System, ScreenConnect/Connectwise Control,
>> SonicWALL firewalls & Cloud Mgmt, EDR AV Software, DNSFilter, ThreatLocker, DUO, Adlumin XDR/MDR, Netgear Insight Cloud Switch management, Unifi Ubiquity Wireless Cloud Management
***** Preferred Experience scripting in general -- Like setting up automation scripts in RMM
***** Preferred Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) like ChatGPT, Perplexity, CoPilot and other AI Tools for troubleshooting/research or otherwise.
***** Preferred: Project experience - Migration projects between servers old to new, on premise to cloud, cloud to cloud, hosted tenant migrations, Server Map Drives to SharePoint Cloud Drives, all typical server migrations as expected for hardware rotation as needed.
** Preferred Experience managing/maintaining Public DNS records, Domain Management/renewals
(Azure/ENTRA AD Connect & Entra Sync, SharePoint Cloud Drives & OneDrive, group policy, printers, RDP, Terminal Servers, Domain Controllers, file servers, RD Gateway, SSL Certificates, Site to Site VPN, Switch Management, Wi-Fi Management, QuickBooks, SQL, SAGE, etc)
** Preferred: experience with General Firewall Management/Policy and rule creation, and Managed Switch configurations for VLAN/LAG etc..
** Preferred Experience managing and maintaining virtual servers in Hyper-V or VMWare
--- The job entails working with a variety of small business owners, employees and other IT staff on maintenance and upkeep of all day-to-day IT needs. You must be able to consult with clients about using our preferred IT solutions and best practices. The Majority of clients are remote support / help desk only, except when onsite is required/needed.
- Some afterhours work is needed.
On-call rotation schedules are required and shared between IT staff.
Some after hours, weekends or weeknight may be required occasionally to prevent interruption to client systems during normal working hours.
