Construction/Restoration Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at Simple Fix Home Repair and Renovation. In this role, you will analyze project specifications, damage assessments to prepare accurate, insurance-ready cost estimates for residential repair and restoration projects, including water damage repairs, fire damage repairs, and full home remodeling.

You will play a key role in helping homeowners navigate the insurance claims process while ensuring our estimates are detailed, competitive, and aligned with industry standards. The ideal candidate is a real go-getter who excels at selling and upselling work to maximize project scope and customer satisfaction.

A company vehicle will be provided for this full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project on-site damage assessments to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
• Utilize Xactimate and other estimating tools to create insurance-friendly line-item estimates for repair work
• Create hand sketches or simple drawings of projects to communicate scope, layouts, or proposed changes to clients, insurance adjusters, and project managers
• Collaborate with project managers, insurance adjusters, contractors, and clients to gather necessary information and negotiate supplements when needed
• Actively sell and upsell additional repair and restoration work to homeowners while providing excellent customer service
• Manage workflows and tasks efficiently with Asana and MaintainX to keep projects organized from estimate through completion

Requirements / Skills:

• Proficiency in Xactimate (required)
• Solid understanding of residential construction, restoration (water/fire damage), and remodeling practices
• Strong ability to sketch projects by hand (quick conceptual sketches, layouts, or field drawings)
• Excellent sales skills with a proven ability to sell and upsell work confidently
• Knowledge of insurance claims processes
• High energy, self-motivated “go-getter” attitude with strong initiative
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities (both written and verbal)
• Experience working with insurance adjusters and negotiating estimates is a big plus
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
