Position SummaryThis role supports the Head Pastry Chef in executing our dessert menu and decorating custom cakes. The ideal candidate has professional cake decorating experience, strong kitchen fundamentals, and a collaborative attitude. Job Tasks and Essential FunctionsDecorate standard ice cream cakes, frosted cakes, and custom cake ordersBuild and frost cakes with knowledge of piping techniques and ability to write messages on cakesPrepare and bake standard dessert menu items and seasonal specialsAssist with custom cake preparation and order fulfillmentMaintain dessert and toppings inventory with the Head Pastry ChefOperate kitchen equipment including stand mixers, ovens, and induction stovesMaintain a clean and organized kitchen including wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, take out trashFollow all food safety and sanitation guidelinesProperly store food and kitchen supplies RequirementsCurrent Food Handler’s CertificationMinimum 3 years professional cake decorating experienceFamiliarity with baking equipment and kitchen toolsAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsTeam-oriented with good communication skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to reach above shoulder height and below the waistAbility to lift and move kitchen materials using proper lifting techniques
