Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care plans.
- Support medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Implement personalized care plans designed for residents with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s, or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote engagement and reduce isolation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and manual handling procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper manual handling techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interact empathetically with residents.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are beneficial.
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and commitment to providing person-centered care in a respectful manner.
