Simpalm is hiring for one of its direct clients in the United States for a highly skilled Lead Business Intelligence Developer. This role is ideal for a seasoned BI professional who can drive enterprise reporting strategy, build scalable Power BI solutions, and provide technical leadership within a growing Business Intelligence & Analytics team.
Role Overview:
As a Lead BI Developer, you will play a key role in shaping enterprise reporting capabilities by designing, developing, and optimizing robust Power BI solutions. You will act as a hands-on technical expert, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Architect, implement, and optimize scalable semantic data models for enterprise reporting.
- Develop and enhance DAX measures and calculations to support advanced analytics.
- Establish and enforce best practices around data modeling, governance, and performance tuning.
- Implement governance frameworks including business glossaries, standardized KPIs, and clear business definitions.
- Design and deliver high-performance Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
- Manage Power BI workspaces, including user access, content organization, and security configurations (e.g., Row-Level Security).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers and analysts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of experience in data analytics and BI architecture roles.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI in an enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and advanced SQL.
- Proven experience in designing and optimizing data models for large-scale and complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience working with Snowflake as a primary data platform, including building scalable semantic layers.
