Technologist Assistant Advanced

Job Duties:

• Assist imaging technologists with advanced patient preparation, positioning, and procedural support for diagnostic imaging examinations.
• Support patient throughput and workflow coordination to optimize department efficiency and minimize delays.
• Escort and assist patients with mobility needs while ensuring patient safety, dignity, and comfort.
• Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies for daily operations and specialized procedures.
• Perform quality checks on imaging support equipment and report operational concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection prevention standards for exam rooms, equipment, and patient care areas.
• Assist with patient screening, intake verification, documentation, and electronic medical record updates.
• Support technologists during contrast-enhanced or specialty procedures as directed and within scope of role.
• Coordinate communication between radiologists, technologists, nursing staff, scheduling teams, and front office personnel.
• Monitor patient flow and assist leadership in identifying workflow improvement opportunities.
• Train and mentor Technologist Assistants and new department support staff on procedures, safety standards, and workflow expectations.
• Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Respond professionally to patient concerns and escalate issues appropriately.
• Support the technologist with IV placement and patient preparation procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare, diagnostic imaging, patient care, or a related clinical support role.
• Experience supporting operations in a fast-paced clinical or outpatient environment.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical record systems.
• IV experience preferred
• Associate degree or coursework in healthcare, radiologic sciences, medical assisting, or related field preferred
• Prior experience in radiology or advanced imaging environments preferred
• CPR/BLS certification
• Experience training or mentoring staff preferred
• Knowledge of imaging workflows and departmental operations preferred

• Advanced understanding of patient care support practices within a diagnostic imaging environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of patient privacy standards, HIPAA regulations, and infection prevention protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technologists, radiologists, nurses, physicians, and administrative teams.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to patient safety concerns.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and standard office software.
• Ability to train, mentor, and support less experienced staff members.
• Strong problem-solving and workflow coordination abilities.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
• Physical ability to assist patients, transport supplies, and perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
