For more than 25 years, Simone Healthcare Development has been designing, building, financing and managing successful medical office and healthcare facilities for some of the New York Metropolitan Area’s largest and most prestigious hospitals and medical practices. Simone specializes in creating custom-designed leading edge healthcare facilities including Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Cancer Treatment Centers, Radiology Centers, Urgent Care Centers and Medical Specialty Offices.
The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and analytical functions for a portfolio of complex commercial, healthcare, mixed-use, and development properties. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Accounting, this position serves as a senior accounting resource and subject matter expert within the Accounting Department. This role independently manages sophisticated ownership structures, lender reporting requirements, lease and escalation analyses, acquisition and disposition accounting, development projects, partnership reporting, and year-end financial reporting. The Senior Accounting Analyst is also expected to promote a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement while supporting the organization's commitment to operational excellence and financial integrity.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Manage all accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned entities and properties.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ownership reporting packages, and supporting work papers.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and debt amortization schedules.
Tenant Billing & Lease Administration
- Review lease agreements and ensure proper accounting treatment of tenant activity.
- Review annual CAM reconciliations, tax escalations, insurance recoveries, and tenant billings.
- Manage security deposit reconciliations and related reporting.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Assist with the annual budgeting processes.
- Prepare forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Prepare financial models and pro forma analyses.
Acquisitions, Dispositions & Development Accounting
- Prepare accounting entries related to acquisitions, dispositions and refinancings.
- Coordinate accounting for development and construction projects.
Lender Reporting & Compliance
- Review loan agreements and maintain compliance.
- Prepare lender reporting packages and monitor covenants.
Tax & Audit Responsibilities
- Coordinate tax return preparation and audits.
- Prepare year-end workpapers and regulatory filings.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Accountants and Property Accountants.
- Review work prepared by accounting staff.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, workflow efficiencies, automation, and standardization across accounting functions.
- Support management in monitoring compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal control requirements.
- Manage and oversee the work performed by third-party resources.
- Review deliverables prepared by third-party resources to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA preferred.
- 7-10 years of commercial property accounting experience.
- Advanced Yardi Voyager and Excel skills.
