Industrial Janitor (Afternoon Shift)

Summary:

This onsite industrial janitor position ensures the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of offices, restrooms, production/warehouse areas, and production office spaces throughout the facility. This role supports daily operations by maintaining an environment that meets company standards, as well creating a polished atmosphere for visitors and guests.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Janitor must wear vinyl/latex gloves (provided by company) at all times while cleaning and/or collecting refuse/recycle material.

• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors, windows, and break areas using industrial cleaners. Thorough disinfection shall be performed daily throughout the facility including but not limited to:
• Restrooms
• Locker Rooms
• Kitchens
• Breakrooms/Lunchroom
• Conference Rooms
• Collects trash and empties hoppers in office and on manufacturing floor.
• Restock soaps, paper items and coffee supplies in restrooms and kitchens. Ensures disinfecting wipes/spray are readily available in front offices and near supervisor stations for distribution to operations.
• Support facility organization by maintaining janitorial closet/storage areas in a clean, orderly condition.
• Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Follow all necessary safety protocols and report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with setup or cleanup for company events, visits, and facility inspections as needed.
• May also sweep walks, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping work preferred (manufacturing or industrial setting ideal)
• Basic understanding of chemicals and safety protocols
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment

This job operates in a production manufacturing and office facility.

Physical Demands
Walks, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours and is subject to lifting 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Pay Rate:

$16.00 per hour and Monthly Bonus. $1.00/hr shift differential on afternoon shift
