Simon & Schuster is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance department at our Distribution Center in Riverside, NJ.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of repairing and adjusting conveyor system (such as lacing and tracking conveyor belts, replacing bearings and sprockets).
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and general electrical issues from 12VDC to 480VAC.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Knowledge and ability to use a wide variety of mechanics tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow-up on task, projects and inquiries as needed in a timely and effective manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs and must be flexible to work overtime at any given notice.
- Must be able to participate effectively as a team member.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (Scissor lift and Boom lift).
- Communications with management on all maintenance projects and breakdowns.
- Adhere to safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout) and general work guidelines.
- Ability to follow instructions and directions.
- Possess the ability to cut, weld and fabricate (Nice to have)
Additional Skills:
- General HVAC knowledge.
- General Carpentry skills.
- General Plumbing skills.
SCHEDULED WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday - 10:00PM - 6:30AM

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
