Position Summary:
The Grinding Technician is responsible for the completion of all hand blown glass including: sanding, grinding, cutting, polishing, and cleaning items to company standards. This position will also support other roles in the Quality Control Department when assistance is needed. Grinding Technicians earn a piece rate incentive that directly rewards individual work ethic and performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cracking, belt sanding, and fire polishing glass
- Cutting, grinding, buffing, and polishing glass
- Drilling and tapping bottles and stoppers for individualized fit
- Setup and tuning of machinery, including saws, grinding machines, cutting torches and drills
- Washing all finished product prior to final inspection
- Cleans, and organizes grinding room at the end of each shift
- Backup support as needed for Quality Control department
- All other duties as assigned

- Requires standing, sitting, walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, leaning, and using steps.

- Lifting, carrying, and manipulation of up to twenty (20) pounds of glass.
- The work exposes employees to sharp objects and cutting risks. Personal protective equipment is supplied. There is also exposure to [dust] airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and equipment that is hot to the touch.
