We are seeking a skilled Sr. Linux Administrator with expertise in virtualization technologies, including KVM and Cloud Stack, to join our team at Simnet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Linux-based server infrastructure.

Salary Range: 90-105K

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, including Ubuntu and Red Hat.
• Provide technical support for Linux servers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability
• Manage user accounts and permissions, including file and directory permissions.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems.
• Ensure Linux servers are up-to-date and secure by regularly installing security patches and updates.
• Perform backups and recovery to ensure data integrity.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages.
• Participate actively in the design and deployment of virtualization and containerization solutions, focusing on scalability and reliability for new services.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure projects.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems.

Requirements

• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as KVM, VMWare, Apache Cloud Stack, etc.
• Experience with containerization, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with backup software, such as Veeam or Acronis.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Configuration management experience using tools such as Ansible or Puppet
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab
• Strong knowledge of Linux security principles and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mentorship - coach, guide, and provide support to junior team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
