Position Summary
The safety officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus residents. This position provides security services for residence halls and campus facilities through patrols, monitors access points, enforcing campus policies, responding to incidents and assisting during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
· Patrol campus ground
· Monitor surveillance cameras
· Check visitor credentials and manage access control
· Investigate suspicious behavior
· Report and document all safety matters
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
· Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
· Previous security or law enforcement experience (preferably in a residential or educational setting)
· Must pass a background check
Physical Demands & Work Environment
· Requires standing or walking for long periods of time
· Occasional lifting or pushing objects up to 50 lbs.
