Position Summary

Compliance Specialist II supports regulatory examinations, audits, and/or compliance reviews by coordinating documentation, tracking corrective actions, facilitating examiner requests, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. This role serves as an experienced individual contributor who works independently on routine examination activities while supporting more complex regulatory engagements under the guidance of management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage periodic examiner requests and track submission deadlines to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Organize, maintain, and validate examination documentation, evidence repositories, and supporting records.
  • Coordinate all logistics for on-site regulatory examinations and other reviews, including scheduling and managing meetings, walkthroughs, and document review sessions; coordinating meeting space and technology resources; and managing physical and technology access requests.
  • Develop and maintain examination agendas, meeting schedules, and examiner contact lists.
  • Service as a primary point of contact for routine information requests, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track examination findings, observations, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of issue status and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare status reports for leadership regarding open findings and remediation efforts.
  • Prepare examination summaries, management reports, and compliance dashboards.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of exam management procedures, job aids, and process documentation.
  • Contribute to regulatory response packages and executive-level reporting materials.
  • Collaborate with business units, risk management, legal, privacy, and other teams.
  • Provide guidance on examination readiness and documentation requirements.
  • Assist in training stakeholders on exam management processes and compliance expectations.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives that strengthen compliance and regulatory preparedness.
  • Ensure confidential, sensitive, and regulated information is handled in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a back-up to other departmental functions.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents.
  • Ability to write simple-to-business correspondence, routine reports, and procedures.
  • Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

Education And/or Experience

  • BS/BA Degree (4 year) from an accredited university /college or two to four years’ experience in equivalent compliance position, preferred.
  • Comprehensive regulatory knowledge and expertise
  • Four or more years of experience at OCC, FRB, FDIC, NCUA, etc. or internal audit experience preferred.

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; PowerBI preferred.
