What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Media Strategist position at Simera?
We’re looking for an Assistant Media Strategist to join our Strategy team and support both new business and existing client growth.
You’ll translate audience research, competitive intelligence, historical performance, and media trends into compelling client-ready proposals and sales decks. This position is ideal for someone who can move seamlessly from research → strategy → media planning → storytelling, while operating comfortably across a wide range of budgets and industries.
We’re ideally looking for someone who can work within 9am–5pm or 10am–6pm EST, though we are also open to candidates aligned with similar hours in CT or PST
Salary: $3,500 – $4,000 USD per month
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic media recommendations for brands across various industries and company sizes
- Build client-facing sales decks and media proposals, including channel rationale, audience strategy, budget allocation, and measurement frameworks
- Create and manage IOs, ensuring accuracy across specifications, budgets, flighting, and deliverables
- Partner with Paid Social, Google Ads, and Programmatic specialists to translate strategy into scalable tactical plans
- Support retail media and CPG planning (Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads, Instacart, Target Roundel) when applicable
- Gather and synthesize audience, competitor, industry, and market insights using tools such as GWI, Dstillery, Pathmatics, Bombora, and similar platforms
- Apply current media trends and best practices, including privacy changes, platform updates, creative trends, and measurement evolution
- Develop proposals across a wide range of budgets ($5K–$250K per month) spanning awareness through performance objectives
- Contribute to measurement and reporting strategy, including KPI selection, testing design, and learning agendas
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure decks are polished, on-brand, and persuasive
- Maintain internal templates, documentation, and workflows to improve efficiency
- Provide strategic optimization recommendations to existing clients based on campaign learnings
Ideal Profile
- 3 years of experience in advertising/media within an agency environment
- Proven experience building advertising strategies and media plans
- Strong storytelling and deck-building skills, with executive-level clarity and narrative flow
- Experience working with IOs and media buying documentation workflows
- Strong research skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize audience and competitive insights
- Comfortable analyzing performance data and identifying actionable trends
Salary : $3,500 - $4,000
