As a Silvi Materials Railyard Operator/Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, one performs numerous tasks involved in the operation and coordination of railcar orders. One also works on the installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of production and production-related equipment.

Rail Yard Responsibilities
- Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
- Coordinate rail car order, and devise loading sequence to meet customer expectations.
- Instruct incoming deliveries on procedures for off-loading.
- Maintain accurate inventory of railcar load quantities, maintain record of BoLs associated.
- Prepare and execute daily checks of loading equipment, along with routine checks while in operation.
- Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
- Maintain and use safe practices while handling, maintaining, and operating equipment.
- Use of proper PPE.
- Follow procedures, and directions as presented by management
- Work hours as directed for vessel unloading.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Experience with conveyor systems and other aggregate handling equipment.
- Heavy machinery operating, front-end loader, forklift, telehandler, skid-steer, etc.
- Ability to perform physical labor as directed. Lifting up to 50-100lbs.
- Valid Driver's License.
- At least one year’s experience in industrial maintenance required.
- Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
- Experience in steel fabrication and welding highly preferred.
- Experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.
- Experience in the maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.
- Knowledge of varied types of motors and their operation highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual highly preferred.
- Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary
- Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus.
