What are the responsibilities and job description for the Free Swimmer position at SILVERTON HOTEL & CASINO?
The Free Swimmer will do free swims in the tank and pools dressed in a mermaid costume.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Be able to interact with tropical, saltwater fish
- Able to hold breath for at least 30 seconds several times for a period of 5-6 minutes
- Perform in deep saltwater for 15-20 minutes at least six times a day
- Perform in saltwater at approximately 78 degrees
- Use of SCUBA diving equipment
- Able to perform in a dark environment
- Use of masks, costumes, and accessories
- Able to lift and carry 65 pounds without personal injury
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Showtimes can be seven (7) days per week at times and days to be determined.
- This show is open to the public and will be performed in the Hotel/Casino areas.
- Mermaids will become proficient at utilizing various forms of SCUBA equipment, for breathing underwater while performing.
- Mermaids will maintain a SCUBA certification and will be expected to continue and maintain training in underwater diving.
- Addition duties may include the care and maintenance of the aquatics facility, the props, and equipment.
