General Summary of Job Duties
The Director of Finance supports the Vice President of Finance by overseeing daily financial operations at the property level. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Director of Finance provides financial analysis, operational support, and departmental leadership, serving as a key partner to the property’s President and leadership team. This position is a senior finance role but is not the highest ranking finance position in the organization.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Gaming Control Board regulations, Federal and State laws, and all company financial policies and procedures.
- Support the Vice President of Finance in executing the financial strategy for the property.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the property level Accounting team.
- Adhere to and enforce all company and departmental policies, including those outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- Oversee daily property accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and cash control procedures.
- Manage and execute month end, quarter end, and year end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset accounting each month to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, schedules, and reports to support the Vice President of Finance, President, and property leadership team.
- Monitor property financial performance and provide insights, variance explanations, and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets and participate in monthly forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure alignment with financial goals and adherence to budgetary expectations.
- Support the Vice President of Finance with internal and external audit preparation and ensure strong internal controls are maintained.
- Continuously evaluate financial processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Serve as a financial partner and resource for the President and operational departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- 7 or more years of progressive finance experience, gaming/hospitality industry experience preferred.
- 3 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and gaming regulatory requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite, Excel expertise is required.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
