What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Development Manager position at Silverthorne Homes?
Land Manager
Tired of being a cog in a massive corporate machine?
If you've spent years navigating the bureaucracy of a large publicly traded builder and you're ready for something different, keep reading. We're a growing private homebuilder where your work actually matters, we build great looking homes, your ideas get heard, and there's real equity partner upside for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll own the full lifecycle of our residential communities—from the first concept sketch on paper to the entitlement meetings to handing over the keys to the HOA. That means working with architects, engineers, environmental consultants, and municipal staff to push projects through approvals and permitting. You'll also get your hands dirty (figuratively, mostly) assisting with field operations with a dedicated construction manager: grading, utilities, paving, landscaping, amenities—the whole nine yards.
You'll partner with our construction team to deliver build-ready lots on schedule, keep budgets in check, and maintain the relationships with local agencies that make future projects possible. Bond tracking, Public Hearings, SWPPP compliance, HOA meetings, plat recordings—it all falls under your umbrella.
We'll also lean on you during due diligence for new acquisitions and count on your input when we're value-engineering designs and building out development budgets.
What You Bring
- Three-plus years in land development, entitlements for residential construction
- You know how municipal approvals actually work (not just in theory)
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus
- Comfortable with project scheduling software, spreadsheets, and keeping things organized
- Valid driver's license, decent driving record, and auto insurance
- You can juggle complex projects without losing the details—or your cool
What We Bring
