Custom Window and Door Installation Technician (Fenestration Technician)

The Fenestration Technician is a critical role in our company's organization. Fenestration technicians are the core of the company and the backbone of our workforce.

The Fenestration Technician’s primary role is to properly and with great attention to detail, install high-end, custom windows and doors. The Technician will be trained by SBI to be able to perform the craft that we focus on. This will include carpentry, precision measurement and calibrations, safe lifting of heavy objects, operation of equipment needed to execute our craft to include suction cups, heavy equipment, trailers, and the ability to direct crane operations.

Our business's primary location is Colorado but we have consistent work in Montana, specifically Bozeman and the surrounding areas. We are looking to create a Bozeman based team for our work there. There may be additional travel to other locations if needed. Travel expenses will be covered by SBI.

This is a very physical job requiring employees to be able to bend down, stoop, squat, be on ladders, and lift heavy frames and glass panels. Because we work on custom homes, the doors and windows we install can be very heavy and this job requires a significant amount of heavy lifting throughout the day, a team of 3 may be required to move a 600 lb panel of glass through the construction site.

Work is done in all types of weather, including sunny hot days and snowy cold winter days. Work is both inside framed homes and outside.

The Fenestration Technician will work directly under the Fenestration Lead.

Responsibilities:

• Flash/Tape
• Build Frames
• Measure
• Lift glass with Suction cups
• Clean up after yourself and the team
• Follow direction of your lead
• Other duties as needed

Requirements:

• Travel out of state for weeks at a time
• Ability to lift 150 lbs with ease multiple times a day
• Communication; verbally and in writing.
• Professionalism (dress and demeanor)
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of carpentry
• Precision measurement skills (inches and mm)
• Follow OSHA safety protocols
• Ability to drive a truck and trailer
• Have your own phone and vehicle
