Key Responsibilities
System Installation & Integration:
- Install and configure security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, intrusion/burglary alarms, and audio/video systems.
- Installation and setup of IT-related hardware such as switches, routers, wireless access points, and TV signage displays.
- Perform integration between various security and IT systems to ensure seamless operation.
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to determine optimal placement of components and wiring routes.
- Plan and execute installations according to project requirements and client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations as well as company safety policies.
- Promote a safe and productive job site by following proper procedures and standards.
- Conduct site checks to verify all team members are adhering to safety requirements.
- Work alongside other trade professionals, including electricians, IT teams, and construction crews, to coordinate installations.
- Communicate clearly with project managers and clients regarding progress, issues, and project timelines.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to low-voltage systems and network equipment.
- Provide post-installation support and training to clients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in low-voltage system installation.
- Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, access control, alarm systems, and networking equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Proficient with tools and equipment related to low-voltage work.
- Understanding of provincial and federal safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must apply for and obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) as required by state law
- Industry certifications such as BICSI, NICET, or equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
