We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Carpenter with extensive experience in the fabrication of retail fixtures, display units, commercial millwork, and architectural woodwork. This role focuses on producing high-quality, precision-built components for retail and commercial environments. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, advanced woodworking skills, and the ability to interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate commercial-grade retail fixtures, shelving systems, display cases, wall systems, checkout counters, kiosks, and specialty millwork components.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, fixture drawings, and shop drawings with precision.
- Perform high-level carpentry and millwork tasks including cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing materials.
- Work with laminates, hardwoods, MDF, plywood, acrylics, solid surface, metals, and other materials commonly used in commercial fixtures.
- Produce accurate, consistent components that meet project specifications and brand standards.
- Operate woodworking machinery, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure accurate fabrication and timely project delivery.
- Complete quality checks to ensure all components meet fit, finish, and structural requirements before leaving the shop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications
- Strong ability to read and execute from detailed shop drawings and fixture packages.
- Expertise with woodworking machines such as table saws, jointers, planers, sanders, and handheld tools.
- Excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to produce consistent, high‑quality components.
- Familiarity with commercial-grade materials, hardware, and construction methods used in retail fixtures and displays.
- Reliable, organized, and committed to meeting production deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience producing fixtures for national retail brands or large commercial environments.
- Knowledge of cabinetmaking and architectural millwork standards.
- Experience with specialty materials such as solid surface, metal trims, or acrylic fabrication.
- Ability to support prototyping or custom one-off builds.
