We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in a home or community-based setting. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
- Support residents with mobility using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Administer medications safely according to care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and sanitation tasks.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages engagement and socialization.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with seniors in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to observe patients closely for changes in condition and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, and manual handling tasks safely.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, patient monitoring techniques, and resident’s
(personalized care needs). - Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends or overnight shifts as needed.
