Responsibilities
- Operate backhoes, excavators (including Caterpillar models), loaders, dozers, dump trucks, to perform excavation and construction utility work.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform construction grading and site preparation tasks with precision to meet project specifications.
- Locate underground utilities accurately using utility locating tools before excavation begins to prevent damage or accidents.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently at all times.
- Coordinate with team members to execute construction activities efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as backhoes, dozers, loaders, dump trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on construction equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving; ability to operate various types of construction vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols on-site.
- Construction site experience with a focus on excavation, grading, utility work, and general construction operations.
- Ability to perform construction grading and site preparation tasks efficiently.
