The Production Supervisor also contributes to workforce development, employee engagement, and continuous improvement within the Production Department.
🔧 What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily production operations for the assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence are consistently achieved.
- Lead shift handovers and daily start‑up meetings, clearly communicating priorities, performance insights, and operational risks.
- Optimize labor, workflow, materials, and equipment utilization while coordinating with maintenance, process, and technical teams to resolve production issues.
- Monitor and analyze production, cost, and performance data (e.g., MES, shift reports) to identify trends, remove barriers, and drive informed decision‑making.
- Support, coach, and develop production team members through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, performance discussions, and targeted training initiatives.
- Champion a proactive health, safety, and environmental culture by ensuring compliance with corporate policies, ISO standards, incident reporting, and 5S practices.
- Partner with Human Resources to support inclusive recruitment, onboarding, certification, and succession planning to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and standardized work development to enhance safety, consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Approximately five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to safety, continuous improvement, and people leadership preferred.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in a production setting.
- Experience with plastics blending and/or processing (e.g., extrusion, molding) is an asset but not required.
