Silver Lake Eye Care Center
Everett, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/17/2026

Overview
Silver Lake Eye Care Center is a doctor-owned, technology-driven private practice specializing in advanced medical eye care, dry eye treatment, custom-fit lenses, and premium vision services. We go beyond the standard eye exam — investing in cutting-edge technology and a highly skilled team that genuinely cares about every patient who walks through our door.

We're looking for a Patient Care Coordinator / Optometric Technician who takes ownership of the patient experience, communicates with confidence, and consistently delivers exceptional service. This is a key role within our practice—you will be the first impression for our patients and help set the tone for the high level of care and attention they receive throughout their visit.

This hybrid position combines front office coordination with hands-on clinical responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, enjoys working with people, and is excited to grow their skills in a modern, patient-focused optometry practice.

Duties

  • Greet patients and create a warm, welcoming, and professional first impression.
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage daily patient flow.
  • Verify vision and medical insurance eligibility (VSP, EyeMed, Medicare, and commercial medical plans) and clearly explain benefits, coverage, and estimated out-of-pocket costs.
  • Collect payments and accurately process patient transactions.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out efficiently while ensuring records, invoices, and documentation are accurate.
  • Perform pre-testing prior to the doctor's examination (training provided).
  • Perform diagnostic testing and imaging for comprehensive, medical, and specialty eye care services.
  • Obtain and accurately document patient medical and ocular history.
  • Assist with insurance prior authorizations, billing, and accounts receivable as needed.
  • Assist with contact lens orders and maintain inventory levels
  • Collaborate with our doctors, clinical team, and optical department to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Answer patient questions and resolve concerns with professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient front office and clinical environment.
  • Cross-train in both front desk and clinical responsibilities to support the needs of the practice.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a medical, dental, or optometry/ophthalmology practice
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide a warm, professional, and positive patient experience.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of medical and/or vision insurance verification and billing
  • Comfortable using computers, learning new technology, and adapting to practice management systems.
  • Interest in eye care, patient education, sales, and helping patients understand their treatment options and recommendations.
  • Willingness to learn and grow through cross-training in both front desk and clinical responsibilities.
  • A team-first attitude: you show up prepared, communicate well, and do what you say you'll do
