Park Manager - Silver Lake Estates

Position Summary-       To manage the facilities and daily operations of the Silver Lake Estates park and lake located in Silver Lake Village, Ohio. This is an hourly position, that is part time year round, It is approximately 40 hours per week from April through October; 30 hrs per week from November-December and 20 hours per week from January through March.Job DutiesMaintenance-       Empty trash, clean restrooms and perform general maintenance duties-       Complete minor repairs (electrical/plumbing/welding/small engine/boat) general repairs on all facilities & equipment-       Replace beach sand annually (60-100tons)-       Provide aeration maintenance and repairs (lake filters, work with equipment provider)-       Conduct water quality testing/reporting/-       Oversee outside vendor provided chemical and fertilization treatments Operations-       Prepare the park for the summer season and close park for the winter season.-       Operate lawn mower, pressure washer, leaf blower, snow blower and chain saw-       Mow, trim, mulch, remove leaves, plant, prune trees/flowers/shrubs; -       Order and pick up all required supplies-       Restock the lake with fish as required-       Install Holiday displays (design/create, repair, remove)-       Access to a pick-up truck to avoid excessive delivery fees is preferred (transportation of pontoon boat to Portage Lakes for maintenance and general hauling of plants/trees/rock/topsoil/brush) Administrative-       Enforce all Park/beach and Silver Lake Estates (SLE) rules and regulations.-       Interview/hire/train/retain/terminate boathouse attendants and lifeguards-       Secure and maintain all required contracts (quotes/bids/approvals)-       Complete routine paperwork: general record keeping, employee scheduling, payroll and boat lottery.-       Maintain all files.-       Obtain competitive quotes for material/supplies and outside service, repair or maintenance orders/contract.-       Develop/submit/adhere to annual budget-       Attend all SLE quarterly board meetings and present a full report with appropriate updates to the board of trustees.-       Maintain American Red Cross trainer provider contract, training of lifeguards and certificates, lifeguard instructor training; order lifeguard uniforms and safety equipment-       Coordinate with the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Dept and the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources to arrange lifeguard in-service and boat training for all employees-       Host and assist with special events held at the park (setup and cleanup)-       Manage facility upgrades as appropriate-       Assist with developing annual newsletter and events-       All other duties as required for the successful operation of the Silver Lake Estates parkSupervisory Responsibilities-       Supervise 15-20 Lifeguards and 7-8 Boathouse Attendants during the summer months.-       Oversee outside vendor/service provider operations and contract performance.-       Enforce SLE Rules and regulations and limit access to the lake and park to Silver Lake Estate residents only.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-       Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with residents, employees, external agencies and non-SLE residents.-       Able to manage conflicts diplomatically as they arise-       Able to handle routine maintenance of park related equipment-       Able to lift park related fixtures and equipment-       Able to use a skid steer loader with tracks (training provided)-       Experience supervising staff-       Driver's License and Access to a pick-up truck is preferred-       Must have or be able to complete CPR for professional rescuer certification. Pay Range-       Between $27 and $32 per hour depending on experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Compensation is negotiable for the right candidate. Organization Details-    The Silver Lake Estates consist of private trust property including Silver Lake, the park, boating and swimming area as well as property along the perimeter of the lake. The Silver Lake Estates park and lake are private property preserved by a Trust that is overseen and maintained by the Silver Lake Estates board of trustees. Use of the lake and park is strictly limited to the owners/residents of Silver Lake Estate lots in accordance with Rules & Regulations.   Environment- The atmosphere at this private recreational property is picturesque, peaceful and serene. Rules and regulations prohibit the use of alcohol at the park. Gas powered boats are prohibited- except for a motorboat/pontoon boat available for use by boathouse staff.  A park manager will quickly come to know the estate lot residents and their families.
