Position Overview:
As the Business Office Manager, you will be the go-to expert on billing, collections, insurance claims, and Medicaid certification. You’ll work closely with residents, families, and external payers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement—helping our facility continue to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all Accounts Receivable functions, including billing and collections
- Prepare and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
- Track and follow up on outstanding payments; ensure timely reimbursement
- Assist residents and families with Medicaid applications and certifications
- Generate and distribute monthly statements and invoices
- Post payments and reconcile resident accounts
- Lead triple check meetings to ensure claim accuracy before submission
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, case managers, and insurance representatives
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records for all payer sources
- Participate in monthly financial close-out and reporting processes
Qualifications:
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing billing required
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing
- Familiarity with Medicaid application processes and state-specific requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with empathy and professionalism
- Proficient in billing and financial software (experience with [insert relevant system] preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; business/accounting coursework preferred
