Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patrols of premises to monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards.
- Operate surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to oversee critical areas and ensure continuous security coverage.
- Manage access control systems to verify identities and authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond promptly to incidents by executing emergency procedures, including fire safety protocols, first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire extinguisher use.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or disturbances with clarity and accuracy.
- De-escalate conflicts using conflict management techniques while maintaining professionalism and ensuring safety for all parties involved.
- Assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting or relocating equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Support loss prevention initiatives by monitoring for theft or vandalism and implementing preventative measures.
- Enforce compliance with all security regulations and company policies to uphold a safe environment for everyone on site.
Experience
- Previous experience in security roles within retail, corporate, military, law enforcement, or hospitality sectors is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in surveillance systems like CCTV and familiarity with access control technologies.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid certification (CPR/AED) and fire safety practices.
- Strong background in conflict de-escalation, conflict management, and law enforcement procedures.
- Ability to perform background checks accurately and assess potential risks effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform patrolling duties that may involve long periods of standing or walking and manual handling tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence and incident report writing.
