What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant Bookkeeper position at Silver & Dackman?
We are a family business seeking experienced Accountants and Bookkeepers to join our small accounting team. This role(s) involve hands-on work with bookkeeping and tax preparation for a variety of clients, utilizing QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, and additional tax software. The ideal candidate will have over two years of tax preparation experience and be comfortable with occasional client communication. Experience in both bookkeeping and tax preparation is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Desktop, QBO, and Xero
- Prepare tax returns including 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, and 990 forms
- Maintain accurate financial records for businesses and individuals
- Utilize tax software
- Communicate with clients occasionally regarding accounting and tax matters
Required Qualifications
- More than 2 years of experience in tax preparation
- More than 2 years of bookkeeping experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Familiarity with preparing tax forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, and 990s
