Job Description
Position Summary: Greets, instructs, directs, schedules, registers, and performs check-in duties for patients. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Responsible for coordinating all after-visit activities including: collection, review and update of all practice-specific forms, communicating of payment policies regarding amounts due for current services and prior balances, collection of payments, assistance with scheduling follow-up appointments and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform registration, check-in, and check-out for patient visits
- Schedule follow-up visits, including labs, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
- Collect co-pays
- Call patients for notification of schedule changes
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff and other customers.
- Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to use independent thinking, sound judgement, and creativity when resolving customer issues.
- Ability to balance priorities and effectively handle challenging situations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with computer technology and applications.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous health-care experience strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of insurance preferred
