Temporary SEL Classified Instructor

POSITION: Social and Emotional (SEL) Classified Instructor PC #31010 (Temporary)

LOCATION: Silver Creek Elementary School

STATUS: Temporary

BEGINNING DATE: December 8, 2025

END DATE: May 29, 2026

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Builds a positive relationship with students based on trust, caring, unconditional regard and individual strengths and needs.
• Develops and delivers group instruction in the areas of social and emotional education to all classes
• Incorporates STEM activities and communication and collaboration into the SEL curriculum ? Follows the First Steps or Zones of Regulation curriculum to deliver weekly lessons during SEL special area class
• Administers PBIS content and instruction
• Keeps current on methods and procedures concerning working with students having social and emotional needs
• Provides instruction and guidance through the Indiana Career Explorer to all students in grades 2-5
• Maintains regular attendance
• Other duties as assigned by the school Principal

LICENSE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Social Worker or Counseling Degree preferred
• Meet at least one of the following requirements for being considered Highly Qualified:
• Two years of college experience
• A Two-year college degree
• Passed the Para-Pro Assessment (within the first year of employment)
• One year of over 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children
• Passed annual school-level evaluations
• Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentials
• Completed LEA required professional development modules/training
• Completed Other Requirements – LEAs may request approval from IDOE
• Operational knowledge of technology
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: Up to $17.33 per hour
