Warrenton Head Chef

At Silver Branch Brewing Company, we believe great beer deserves great food. Our Warrenton location brings people together over award-winning beer, handcrafted pizza, and elevated pub fare—all served with a healthy dose of Gemütlichkeit (warmth, camaraderie, and genuine hospitality).

We’re looking for a Head Chef who leads by example, loves building strong teams, and takes pride in creating consistently great food. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll work alongside the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, develop your team, and keep the kitchen running efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and set the standard for quality, consistency, and teamwork.
• Train, coach, and develop Sous Chefs and kitchen staff.
• Work with the General Manager to schedule and manage labor to hit business goals while supporting your team.
• Order, receive, and manage inventory to control food costs and minimize waste.
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, food safety, and organization.
• Ensure every dish leaves the kitchen looking and tasting its best.
• Partner with the Executive Chef and General Manager on menu improvements, seasonal features, catering, and private events.
• Help build systems and processes that allow the kitchen to grow with the business.
• Jump into service wherever needed—leading from the front is part of the job.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience leading a high-volume professional kitchen.
• Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, labor management, and kitchen operations.
• A coach’s mindset—you enjoy teaching, developing people, and creating accountability.
• Calm under pressure with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with scheduling, ordering, and inventory systems (MarginEdge, GoTab, and 7Shifts experience is a plus).
• ServSafe Manager Certification (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days).
• Passion for scratch cooking, pizza, burgers, and creating food that keeps guests coming back.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (100 lbs occasionally).
• Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in a fast-paced kitchen for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in hot kitchens, walk-in coolers, and busy service environments.
• Available to work at least 45 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
