Silvec is currently seeking to fill a full-time position for a Horticulture technician. Successful candidates should have a degree (AA, AS, BS) in Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology or a related field. Routine responsibilities include, but are not limited to, plant propagation, transplanting, pruning, IPM scouting, pest management, sourcing plant materials, optimization of growth conditions, plant maintenance, pesticide application, watering and fertilization. Advanced techniques may include plant tissue culture, grafting, and agroinfiltration. Hands on horticulture experience is also a plus. Pesticide applicators certificate for subcategory 3B (interior plant) or ability to obtain the certification as soon as possible is a requirement - training will be provided. You must have your own vehicle and be open to travel (locally and occasionally by plane). Some early evening and weekend work may be required.
