What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Bilingual English/Spanish position at Silva's Painting?
Commercial Painting Project Manager - Bilingual English/Spanish
Orlando, FL | $40/hour Performance Bonus | Company Truck
Are you an experienced commercial painter who moved into leading crews and managing projects?
This could be the next step you're looking for.
Silva's Painting is hiring an experienced Commercial Painting Project Manager to manage multiple active projects throughout Florida. This is a field-first leadership position for someone who knows commercial painting because they've actually done the work.
This is not a general construction Project Manager position.
We're specifically looking for someone who came up through the commercial painting field, understands the equipment and challenges crews encounter in the field, and has developed into a strong project leader.
What You'll Own
You'll manage multiple commercial painting projects from handoff through completion, spending the majority of your time in the field.
You'll be responsible for:
- Scheduling and coordinating multiple projects and painting crews across different locations
- Planning manpower, equipment, materials, and project timelines
- Managing job kickoffs and labor planning
- Moving crews efficiently from completed projects to upcoming work
- Visiting active jobsites to monitor production, quality, safety, and progress
- Tracking labor hours, material usage, job costs, budgets, and profitability
- Reviewing scopes, plans, specifications, estimates, and project requirements
- Coordinating boom lifts and other field equipment
- Ensuring crews have the manpower, materials, tools, and equipment they need
- Communicating with crews in both English and Spanish
- Building strong relationships with customers, general contractors, facility representatives, employees, and subcontractors
- Identifying field problems early and solving them before they impact schedule, quality, or profitability
- Identifying additional work and potential change orders
- Completing final walkthroughs, punch lists, and project closeout
- Supporting the estimating team with field expertise when complex projects require additional input
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- 10 years of painting industry experience
- Hands-on commercial painting field experience
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience operating a boom lift and other onsite machinery
- Experience supervising painting crews and/or managing commercial painting projects
- Strong experience scheduling multiple projects and crews at the same time
- Hands-on understanding of labor planning, job costing, material usage, budgets, and production
- Ability to troubleshoot painting and equipment issues in the field
- Strong communication and people-management skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel to active project locations
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Even better if you have:
- Swing-stage experience
- Experience with commercial repaint, new construction, and/or industrial painting
- Experience managing projects across multiple cities or regions
- Experience with project-management or scheduling software such as Jobber
The Person Who Will Thrive Here
You know how a painting project should run because you've been on the jobsite yourself.
You can walk onto a project, speak with the crew in Spanish, recognize when production is falling behind, understand what the equipment is doing, talk professionally with the customer or GC, and develop a plan to get the project back on track.
You're also thinking one step ahead: when one crew finishes, you already know where they're going next.
And just as importantly, you know how to lead people with respect. Clear communication, ownership, planning, and professionalism matter here.
