THE OPPORTUNITY
After completing a major acquisition, the team is seeking a full-time Land Administrator based in Houston, TX to support oversight and optimization of its mineral position. This role will begin as a contract engagement, with the opportunity to transition to full-time employment. The candidate will join a dynamic and successful team and play a key role in the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Siltstone’s entrepreneurial culture allows the candidate to take on meaningful responsibility while working closely with both the land and accounting teams., The Land Administrator will play a key supporting role in managing the firm’s mineral position, including:
• Act as a liaison between the land and accounting department to support revenue tracking, issue resolution, and month/quarter-end processes
• Maintain and update land management software to ensure data integrity of land records
• Monitor well and lease activity, including new wells, production statuses, lease expirations, and potential lease bonus opportunities
• Obtain and review pooling/unit designations (“DPUs”) from county courthouses to support royalty payment reconciliation and ownership verification
• Own the division order process - including proactively obtaining division orders for all in-pay wells, reviewing and validating decimal interests against lease terms, coordinating with operators to resolve discrepancies, and updating internal land systems for new wells
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operators, building and maintaining strong rapport while managing day-to-day communication and follow-ups related to ownership, revenue, and well activity
• Assist with identifying and researching revenue discrepancies related to ownership and land records, and supporting resolution efforts
• Support Land Manager with lease bonus tracking and reconciliation efforts
• Support ad hoc projects and analysis across the firm as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
• 0-2 years of experience in oil and gas and/or minerals land administration
• Familiarity with title or division order process is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and receptive to feedback
• Self-starter, comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative, fast-paced environment
