Position Requirement
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with certification in Physical Education
Qualifications/Experience:
- Texas Teacher Certification in Physical Education
- 3-5 years classroom experience with knowledge of the general needs of children at this grade level, and the ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
- 3 to 5 years of Head Varsity Basketball Experience(Preferred) or will consider Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach in a successful 5A or 6A program
- Successful Postseason Experience (Preferred) Other certification areas considered with preferred basketball experience
Illustrative Duties:
- Provides general instruction to students in their daily instructional activities by developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the requirements of the district’s curriculum program
- Work with other members of the staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and instructional methods
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing
- Assume responsibility of the extracurricular activities as assigned
- Be a positive role model for students, and support mission of campus and district
- Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, administration, and other staff members.
- Additional coaching duties as assigned
