Job Title:
Extruder Operator (MUST HAVE EXTRUSION EXPERIENCE)
Reports To:
Production Supervisor
Job Overview:
As an extrusion machine operator, your primary responsibilities are preparing machinery for use, running the controls in compliance with current occupational regulations, safe and efficient manufacture, change-over and setup of screws. The Extruder Operator is involved in all aspects (cleaning, preparing, operating and monitoring) of the production process. Their goal is to ensure that the production process runs safely and smoothly and that the plant produces quality product.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for starting and stopping the extrusion system, including but not limited to powering the system, starting downstream equipment, air compressors, cooling systems and ventilation.
- Control and adjust machine settings.
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
- Responsible for proper documentation of run parameters and adhering to control limits set by Silon LLC and their customers.
- Use FIFO principles to set up production runs.
- Track and accurately log information regarding raw material usage, production and waste generated during the shift.
- Take production samples and complete all testing according to manufacturing specifications and correctly log results.
- Use an RF scanner when transferring raw materials and finished product.
- Use 6S principles for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Performs all duties with a focus on safety.
Qualifications:
- High school or GED
- Forklift driving experience
Additional Skills/Qualifications
- Proven Experience as a machine operator is preferred
- Plastic Extrusion
- Understanding of production procedures
- Oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
