Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including animal restraint and handling.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Provide front desk support, including scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and managing patient records.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Monitor animals during their stay at the clinic, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Assist with laboratory procedures such as collecting samples for testing and performing basic diagnostic tests.
Skills
- Proficient in animal handling techniques with a strong understanding of animal anatomy.
- Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures, including medication administration and animal restraint methods.
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for animals.
- Familiarity with kennel management and care protocols is an asset.
