The Silicon Valley Equity in Education Institute (SVEEI) is seeking a strategic, highly organized, and collaborative Seasonal Conference Director to support planning and execution of our inaugural Disruption Conference taking place in May 2027.
This conference will convene leaders across education, workforce development, AI, research, policy, philanthropy, and community advocacy to explore innovative solutions to educational and economic inequities impacting socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
This is a part-time, seasonal contract role ideal for an experienced conference or event professional who can help build a high-impact convening while supporting long-term organizational growth and visibility.
Key ResponsibilitiesConference Planning & Coordination- Lead coordination and execution of the SVEEI Disruption Conference
- Develop and manage conference timelines, deliverables, and planning milestones
- Coordinate venue logistics, vendor communication, registration systems, and scheduling
- Support speaker, panelist, and guest coordination
- Oversee conference operations leading up to and during the event
Support relationship management with educational institutions, sponsors, nonprofits, and strategic partners
• Coordinate communication with conference participants and collaborators
• Assist with sponsorship logistics and partnership engagement
Marketing & Event Support• Collaborate with SVEEI leadership and media teams to support conference visibility and attendee engagement
• Assist in coordinating promotional efforts, outreach, and attendee communications
Operational Support• Help maintain organized systems, budgets, and planning documentation
• Support volunteer coordination and onsite event execution
• Contribute to post-event reporting and recommendations for future conferences
Preferred Qualifications• Experience planning conferences, summits, educational events, or nonprofit convenings
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously
• Experience working with educational institutions, nonprofits, philanthropy, or community-based organizations preferred

CompensationFlat project fee ranging from $20,000–$25,000, based on experience and scope of responsibilities.
