Position Summary
The Process Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering programs and manufacturing process improvements. This role focuses on integrating new products into production, optimizing existing processes, and ensuring that project objectives related to quality, cost, and delivery are achieved. The Engineer assists in troubleshooting technical issues on the production floor, implementing process solutions, and supporting the development of new products from prototype through production release. The position requires close collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure that manufacturing processes are efficient, and compliant with customer and accreditation standards. This position must also be able to engage with customers when resolving challenges and encouraging change.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Coordinate between production, quality, engineering teams, and customers to resolve technical issues and maintain process control.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including process flows, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for yield improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product or process deviations.
- Support engineering change management, ensuring accurate communication and implementation of updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives.
- Monitor program progress, collect metrics, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry and customer standards such as AS9100, IPC, and Nadcap.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in process engineering, product development, or program coordination within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and manufacturing process documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- ERP system fluency and proficiency with Power Point, CAD/SolidWorks or similar software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with electronic or cable assembly manufacturing processes.
- Experience with fiber optic products, components, or testing is a plus.
- Exposure to continuous improvement, automation, or process validation initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools, SPC/DOE, and FMEA methodologies.

Schedule:
- Monday- Friday 5:00am-1:30pm
- OT is required, as needed. OT Hours: Mon-Thursday 2 hours immediately before/following shift, and Sat.
